Why is my smartphone advising me which train to catch?

My smartphone started making odd noises. I intended to go to High Wycombe for an IET evening event on intelligent buildings. My phone started bonging me to tell I had to leave to catch the train. How did it know? Likewise, I had an interview and it started bonging me to tell me to catch the 12:34 train. Mind you, that was not the best advice as Storm Doris was messing up the train service.

That sounds like Google Now, unless you have some train app linked to your calendar.
