All templates and CSS updated. Do a forced refresh to reload all the changes into your browser cache.

If you notice anything odd going on, let me know.

    Cheers,
    Shaun :D

I bought the app as soon as I saw this. I've been using for a few days now on my iPad and I'm quite impressed. Although not as flashy as actually looking at forum it does the basic stuff well. The only problem I've found is that the alerts don't seem to clear unless you login using a web browser.

It is good to see the site growing.

Maybe some more people who are reading could join in and chat with us. It would make it even better!

The GC server will be offline for a short while between 2am - 4am on Tuesday 2nd August to have some more memory fitted - taking it to 8GB.

This is to help manage the increased traffic to CycleChat, and, hopefully sometime in the future, GeeksChat too.

So if you're a night-owl - please don't start writing the post of your life just beforehand or you might just lose it ... lol :D

    Cheers,
    Shaun

Over the next week or two I'm going to upgrade our XF install to 1.0.4.

I'm then going to upgrade the templates to the latest version of Flexile which will probably affect the layout for a short while.

I'm then going to consolidate a number of the sub-forums and make a few more General scope forums for the areas where we currently have gaps. I'm also moving them up the node tree to shorten the navigation breadcrumb, and make the thread/post numbers visible.

This will probably make for a slightly longer homepage, but hopefully it will be more accessible to new visitors as a result.

    Cheers,
    Shaun :D

I'm just about to start fiddling with the layout, so if it all goes a bit mental - it's my fault ...

    Cheers,
    Shaun :)

No just a bunch of bug fixes and a couple of ACP options.

Template changes applied ... well, for now anyway. There are a couple of things I want to experiment with along the blue/lime theme I've stumbled upon, and a few things I haven't found the template code/CSS for yet ...

I also haven't had time to complete the forum consolidation or put the template code back in for the sub-sub-forums, so for now just either click on the parent forum to drill down, or use the sub-forum hover-over to get at the deeper sub forums.

    Cheers,
    Shaun :D

Note to self - slow down - if you go too fast you'll delete a whole bunch of forum sub-categories and posts that you didn't want to delete ... plonker!!! :(

Thankfully it was only the webmaster ones - they weren't heavily poplated, but hey ho - can't be helped now, and not worth the time to pick through last night's SQL backup to restore them - especially in light of the name/forum changes I'm making.

    :roflmao:

    All done.

I've got rid of quite a few forums, created some new General ones, and consolidated others.

All forums are now 1st tier (below a category only, and not below another forum) and all show the number of posts and replies (this wasn't available on the previous layout).

I think I've still managed to cover as much as before, but with a smaller overall number of forums.

Any problems, either with the layout or software, just let me know.

    Cheers,
    Shaun :D

Damn - taken us to below 3000 posts ...

I shall have to get cracking and do some site promotion.
