    Funny.

Slightly on topic: I was having a nostalgia attack recently, and 2 days ago, having been forced to take a few days off work sick, decided to get the Doom Master Levels working. These are just a random collection of Doom 2 levels that can be installed as extra WAD files, and since I hadn't played them, thought I'd give them a go. :hyper:

The only catch was: the installation executable is a 16-bit application, and I run Windows 7 64-bit on my desktop PC, and Windows 8.1 64-bit on my laptop PC. (I do have other PCs, but rarely use them these days). You may/may not be aware that you can't run 16-bit applications on a 64-bit OS, but there is a way around this problem.

What I did was to download and install Microsoft's Windows Virtual PC and Windows XP Mode applications, which let you run Windows XP on a virtual machine hosted on your Windows 7 / 8.1 / etc. PC. Once this was up and running, I then ran the Doom 2 Master Levels install application in the Windows XP virtual machine, then just copied the WAD files to my usual Doom 2 location on the Windows 7 PC. I could then run and play them. Problem solved. :)
