    George Monbiot doesn't like the idea much. He says in effect that the experiment was carried before clean air acts were in force when sulphur emissions from factories polluted the atmosphere. The result was drought in the Sahel. He also reckons this experiment would not prove much because it is too small scale. I doubt that is the idea myself. I expect the idea of this experiment is just to see how if it could be done.
