    Funny - I'd imagined the full width of the "tube" was the vacuum used to accelerate the particles, but I've just sussed that the particle pipes are only 6.3cm in diameter.

    It's actually fascinating going there are well. I spent 7 days there back in the'90s doing some experiments.
