In case you missed it everywhere... Today is that date in the future that they went to in Back To The Future..

What other notable future dates are there?

I'll kick it off with Blade Runner.

November 1, 2017 & January 8, 2016 are the Incept date of Pris and Roy and the film is set in set in November 2019.

IIRC Lost in Space is set in 2058. I will have had a telegram from the monarch by then (assuming medicine also advances at a decent pace!).

How about looking backwards too? Wasn't HAL 9000 meant to have gone active on Jan 12 1992? Hmm....

I think retrospective future dates are good here too.

1999 - not the "party like it's" - but the SPACE 1999 kids show that had people on a base on the moon and those cool oblong spaceships:

Future date 2027 predicting a world where the UK has massive concentration camp style immigration centres... Considering what's happening in Calais at the moment I'd say we may get there by 2017!!!
