The Ariane 5 has been the workhorse of choice over the last 20 years or so. They have some serious competition now from SpaceX and their heavy lift options. So a lot rides on Ariane 6 https://spacenews.com/arianespace-targets-2023-for-lunar-ariane-6-rideshare-mission/ So I guess it's quite a smart move to get ahead of the game and announce a planned scheduled ride share trip to the moon. Though I think there could be a lot of these from the mid 2020s. Price could be the deciding factor and time will tell if the Ariane can complete with the competition.
